Meet Collin Bischoff
What’s your favorite part about DJing weddings?
As a DJ, I enjoy specializing in weddings because it is always such a fun atmosphere to work in. From the time before the ceremony begins all the way to the end of the party, there is never a dull moment, and I love seeing the way everyone celebrates love in their own way. Being able to be a part of the happiest day of people’s lives always makes for a fun day at work!
Why do you think someone should hire you to DJ their wedding?
Weddings are all I do and I do them well. This is my full time job, not just a side hobby for extra cash on the weekends. I have over ten years of experience specializing in DJing weddings and I really pride myself in being more than just a guy who shows up and plays music at your wedding. I always make sure to try and go above and beyond by helping out with the day of coordination as well. In many cases, I end up being more like a DOC that also happens to play really good music. I go out of my way to work with the other vendors on site to make sure everything is going according to plan and happening seamlessly, so that the clients & guests can enjoy being fully present and not have to worry about what should be happening next. I give all of my clients access to an online event planning form that I walk through with them before the wedding
day to make sure everyone is on the same page as far as planning goes. This planning form proves to be an invaluable tool for planning out one’s wedding day, as it includes everything that I need to know in order to make your special day perfect. I have DJed hundreds of weddings by now and I still get compliments from guests telling me that they can tell how much fun I am having and that my happiness shines and lights up the entire room when I am DJing!
How would you describe your MC style?
Formal, clear, concise, and directive, while still being personable. I do not do any cheesy announcements but I like to be myself, let my personality shine through, and address a room as though I am addressing any number of people in front of me. Microphone presence and public speaking for many people is a greater fear than death itself. I can confidently say that while it took me years to get past this, I now am just as comfortable addressing a crowd as I am my own fiancee or anyone else haha.
How do you like to keep the dance floor rockin’ all night?
I do my best to work the crowd and see what guests are reacting positively to on the dance floor. I incorporate as many guest requests as possible while prioritizing the couple’s “must play” song list as designated by my online event planning form. I even give clients the chance to list “Do Not Play” songs. Many times as a DJ, we tend to know what works and what doesn’t, simply from experience of doing this every single weekend,
sometimes twice per weekend. There are many times a guest will approach me to request a song that I already have loaded up to play next. It’s sorta like playing a musical mind-reading game with a crowd of 100+ people! I absolutely love it and it never gets old. Of course, there are times when the DJ is hired more for being an MC and keeping the flow of events moving through the night, and the couple isn’t big on dancing or just simply wants background social music the whole night, and that is totally fine with me as well. I am not a rock star, I am simply there to make sure you are having the best time possible. I make sure to keep it at a volume that will create a nice hotspot on the dance floor but still allow other guests around the room to hold a conversation.
List your top-5 favorite songs to play at weddings

What’s one fun fact that most people don’t know about you?
I actually went to school for Audio Production and Business Management and have years of experience as an A/V engineer running sound and lighting for larger, concert level productions, festival stages, theaters, etc. It wasn’t until covid that I made the decision to specialize in weddings full time. If your wedding requires more technical ability than your standard off-the wall
wedding DJ, I can probably help you. I have the ability and experience to mic up live instruments and multiple people at once if needed for things like ceremony audio, live performances, etc. If you can imagine it, it can probably be done. Let me help you bring your dreams to reality!
